Dr. Chimiklis earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate Center City University of New York in 2019. Following this, she completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at UC San Diego Health\u2019s Eating Disorders Center for Treatment and Research. In 2021, she worked\u00a0at Equip Health, specializing in providing virtual eating disorder treatment to adolescents and their families.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Dr.\u00a0Chimiklis\u00a0specializes in the assessment and treatment of adolescents and young adults with eating disorders and body image concerns as well as common co-occurring conditions including anxiety, ADHD, and trauma. She provides evidenced based treatments including family-based treatment for anorexia (FBT), parent management training (PMT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) strategies.\u00a0She particularly enjoys employing family-based treatment for adolescents with eating disorders and individual\u00a0therapy to address eating and body image concerns in teenagers.<\/p>\n
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Chimiklis has actively participated in several treatment intervention projects, including research on a school-based yoga program aimed at evaluating its impact on emotion regulation and attention among kindergarten and first-grade students.
