Shayla provides a holistic, person-centered approach utilizing a variety of techniques to best fit each individual’s unique needs. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), which is a newer evidence-based therapy for treating more chronic overcontrol of emotions such as anorexia nervosa, anxiety and depression, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Prior to joining everyBody Behavioral Health, Shayla was a primary therapist at an eating disorder treatment center in Orange County, CA where she worked with all levels of care including residential (RTC), partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs implementing a variety of treatment modalities for clients with eating disorders diagnoses.
Shayla believes that a life worth living is possible, and authenticity is essential in building a strong therapeutic relationship. She also believes that no matter where you are in life, there is hope for healing, growth and self-discovery, and you do not have to go through your journey alone.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and my 3-year-old puppy, Honey. I grew up in the heart of Orange County, CA surrounded by a large and loving family who love adventure. I love any opportunity to travel and experience new cultures, whether locally or across the country. Some of my favorite places that I have visited thus far have been Ireland, Iceland, and the UK.
